Image
The Thematics of Reylo: Balance and Yin & Yang | Star Wars Discussion Today’s Star Wars Discussion, I will be discussing the thematic implications of shipping Kylo Ren and Rey.  I also would like to apologize for not always looking at the camera as I was referencing my script. I most likely will be remaking this video this summer given the new context that TROS has added to this ship. Watch Now: https://utreon.com/v/8h7qH63QAUQ

Canon vs Continuity

Image
Canon vs Continuity In today's video I discuss the concepts of Canon and Continuity. Is there a difference? What is the Difference? Are they even important? Is it important? The Star Wars and Star Trek franchises are where I see this debate come up the most. Most often being used to justify a persons dislike of a certain film or show by claiming it breaks canon and/or continuity. In this video I hope to provide the definitive answer and settle the debate once and for all. Feel free to challenge me in the comments. Note: a few times in the video, I myself make the mistake I'm trying to correct of people using canon and continuity to mean the same thing, despite them being different according to my argument. In other words, I spoke the wrong term on a few occasions. Original Air-date: Jun 9, 2020 Watch Here: https://utreon.com/v/nIkIdpwuTzk

Last Week in the Presidential Election 3

In the previous week, the national polls continue to favor Biden, as do many of the state polls, notable in the battleground states.  It is reasonable to say that the polls are expect to narrow by Election Day. However, we have not yet seen any noticeable narrowing nationally. Additionally, if anything Biden is gaining in the polls, which is counter intuitive to how polls behaved in previous elections.  When it come to the debate, it was better than the first debate, if only because the candidates were not in the same room to interrupt each other. While the Biden campaign was willing to hold a virtual town hall debate, the Trump campaign refuse. As such we ended up with two separate town halls. I watched the Biden town hall on ABC in its entirety, while I have only seen clips of the Trump town hall on NBC. Based on online reactions, it seems that Biden's town hall was more informative for voters than Trump's town hall. The Neilson rating also seem to support this, with...

I am a Christian for Biden

For any Christian reading my Blog and are torn on who to vote for, I have a suggestion. As I Christian myself, I read the Bible and attempt to live according to Christian moral and values. Those morals and values are not reflective in the Trump-Pence ticket. Trump I don't think knows anything about Christianity and Pence only cares about the Law and punishing those who disobey. He ignores the Gospel, he ignores Forgiveness, he ignores the Forgiveness of Sins, he ignores Salvation, he ignores all aspect of Christianity that do not give himself and fellow Republicans power. There is Biblical and non-Biblical (Roman sources, archeology, etc.) that show some of the earliest socialist and communist communities where Christian Communities. As a Christian I can only support politicians who not only live according to Christian values and morals, but also treat others according to those values. What good is it living your own life as a Christian, focused solely on your salvation...

Should the POTUS be Elected by Popular Vote?

The United states Presidential Election is a little over a month out, or is it. The first Tuesday after the first Monday in November is the day of the popular for President is cast, but the winner of the popular vote does not become President. As happened in 2016 and 2000 the winner of the Electoral Collage did not win the popular vote. This should not be the case, the President should be the winner of the popular vote. The is an interstate compact/agreement once this group of states has 270 electoral votes under their control, they would pledge their electoral votes to whoever won the national popular vote their than their state popular vote. However, some would prefer if the Constitution were to be amended to abolish the electoral college and have the President solely chosen by the popular vote. I however doubt enough Congressional support and state support will be achieved to reach the required super-majorities. But if an amendment could be agreed upon,  I see some possibilities...

Political Satire Today, Alternate History Tomorrow

This blog post was originally published March 7, 2017 on my old website. No changes have been made except formatting and spelling and grammatical corrections. Political Satire Today, Alternate History Tomorrow Last week, I was scrowling through Twitter, and I stumbled across a Washington Post Article, Thousands of furious Trump fans can’t stop visiting a website that pretends Clinton won. The article talks about a satirical website,  www.hillarybeattrump.org , and people’s opinions regarding that website. The website pretends that Hillary Clinton won the Presidency instead of Donald Trump in the 2016 Presidential election. Conservatives, have called the website “fake news” and a place for liberals to seek “refuge from reality.” The Washington Post described the website as, “a parody-based parallel universe whose creator intended for it to serve as a trap for Trump supporters online, with a mocking masthead that says: ‘President Hillary Rodham Clinton.’” The creator of the w...

Politics and the World: Can a President be Recalled?

This Blog post was originally Published May 1, 2017 on my old website. No changes have been made, expect formatting. Politics and the World: Can a President be Recalled? With the election of Donald Trump as President, many Americans are looking for ways to remove him from office. While some methods are less than legal, let us  only look a the legal methods of removing a President from office. The Constitution only provides for five ways for a President to be removed from office: End of Term (on second term or not reelected), Death (Side Note 1), Resignation, Impeachment, and the Vice President and the Cabinet declare the President unfit for Office (twenty-fifth Amendment). In a future video I will explain the twenty-fifth Amendment. Of all these methods, only one directly involves the People; the President not being reelected. There is another option that could be used to remove the President from office. While this method is not provided for in the constitution; it is not banned b...
